At the virtual currency exchange Bybit, your account may be frozen if you purchase or trade in the futures, spot, or staking markets. However, this is a fairly rare case, so it may not be of much interest to most users. There are actually cases where accounts have been frozen in the past, so we have written an article about when this applies.
account freeze
Although having your account frozen is a rare event, it does happen. If your account is frozen, you will not be able to trade crypto assets and you will not be able to withdraw the money deposited into your account. Even if you click on it, you will not be able to purchase coins or make payments, and even if you verify your identity (KYC), you will not be able to transfer funds in your wallet. Please refer to the following for information on when your account will be frozen or suspended.
Restricted country
In some countries, Bybit may prohibit you from registering or using certain features at any time without explanation. If you access the page from an IP in a country where access to Bybit is restricted and log in to Bybit, your account will be temporarily frozen. You can check the applicable countries below. To cancel this, you will need to contact support and provide proof of identity. Check out our frequently asked questions and terms of use.
self affiliate
A self-affiliate is when you open an account yourself via a referral link assigned to you. Bybit officially prohibits self-affiliation, so be careful. If this happens, your account will be frozen. Naturally, it is prohibited, so it is not permitted.
fraudulent transaction
Your account will be frozen if you are trading in a clearly fraudulent manner or if you have committed an act that poses a security problem. Specifically, this is exactly the case when someone else’s account is hijacked and manipulated illegally. Naturally, the account will be frozen because it is prohibited.
Server-loading transactions
Transactions that put a load on the server also become operational obstacles. This is exactly the case when placing a large order in a short period of time. Your account may be frozen because it will put a lot of load on the server. This is also a caution for those who are doing automated trading.
User is not over the age of 18
Bybit users must be 18 years or older, so if you create an account and trade without meeting this condition, your account may be frozen.
account hacking
If you intentionally steal and misuse a third party’s account information, your account may also be frozen, but please keep in mind that in this case, once your account is frozen, there is a high possibility that you will not be able to trade again. In this case, it is clearly a malicious example, and the administrator may permanently ban you.
nuisance
If you blatantly cause trouble to other users or administrators, your account may be frozen. In this case, it will probably be discovered through reporting, but in any case, it is better to quit the act immediately and negotiate with the administrator to have the account unfrozen.
Unfreezing method
Currently, once an account is frozen, it becomes completely inoperable at any time. Therefore, the only option is to create a new account for each individual and contact them from the screen. However, in the example below, it is difficult to unfreeze the account. Since you are unable to come up with new solutions on your own, you will need to negotiate with support.
For countries where registration is prohibited
As introduced above, Bybit prohibits access and registration in certain countries. Despite that, if you have registered, your account will be subject to account freeze, and it will not be subject to cancellation. Also, if you are in a country where registration is prohibited and you are able to register, most of the cases will be considered a malicious act because there are many cases where you have submitted another person’s ID card or address confirmation document.
Operation by BOT
If you overload the server with system trading such as automatic trading, it will also cause trouble for the management side. This is an example of a trader actually operating the tool being frozen, and I think similar examples will occur in the future. In the first place, we do not recommend automatic trading because it will always fail when a big trend occurs.
